Though it seemed far off in the distance, Nada Ahmed had always dreamed of remodeling her home in between taking care of her mother and her four children. Her goal is becoming a reality thanks to 70 American University of Sharjah (AUS) students.
The kids painted, furnished, cleaned, and decorated the entire house in a span of two weeks, making it a warm and inviting home for the poor family.
Nada remarked, “I had never imagined something like this.” “Words cannot express the change and happiness [the pupils] have brought into our home. I’m grateful for the times of laughing and this glimmer of hope.
Some of the pupils experienced something that changed their lives. Judy Debs, an AUS biology major, was one among them. “The experience was life-changing, giving me a greater sense of appreciation and thankfulness for my personal gifts,” the woman remarked. Helping this family was more than simply a job; it was a really meaningful and beautiful deed. The sense of purpose and amazing teamwork made everything worthwhile in spite of the difficulties. Before this chapter ends, I hope to participate again.”
