Trump Claims it Will be Simpler to Defeat Kamala Harris Than Biden

On Sunday, Republican front-runner Donald Trump stated that he believes Democratic nominee Joe Biden will be more difficult to beat in November than Vice President Kamala Harris, who had resigned earlier in the day.

The remarks were made by the former president of the United States, who is a Republican, to CNN not long after Biden declared his choice. Later, Trump criticized Biden on social media, claiming he was unfit to hold the president’s office. On Sunday, Biden declared his candidature for reelection after other Democrats grew doubtful about his capacity to defeat Trump. To succeed him as the party’s nominee, Biden supported Harris.

After a shoddy and unconvincing performance in a televised debate against Trump towards the end of last month, Biden had begun to doubt his chances of winning reelection. Trump claimed on Sunday that Biden “was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve” on his Truth Social platform.

Leading Republicans, such as Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson, stated that Biden was unfit to be president and should not be allowed to complete his term as the Democratic nominee. Johnson demanded that Biden step down in writing. We will suffer greatly because of his (Biden’s) presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done quickly,” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform.
