UAE: According to RTA, Advertisements and Campaigns can now be Seen on School Buses.

Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority said on Friday that business community advertisements and promotional campaigns can now be shown on school buses, providing investment opportunities for school bus operators.

By using advertising spaces inside and outside school buses, the initiative seeks to give school transport operators an extra source of income. But to properly promote goods and deals while defending the rights and safety of students, these commercials have to abide by strict guidelines and regulations, according to RTA.

Adel Shakri, Director of the Planning and Business Development Department at the Public Transport Corporation at the Roads and Transport Authority, outlined the requirements and standards for advertising that must be followed. He stated that ads must be appropriate for students and promote morality, ethics, and appropriate behaviors by UAE laws. The RTA website is where to apply for an advertising permit, and the Dubai Municipality must approve the content.

“To prevent distraction, onboard advertising screens should be positioned behind the driver, and no advertisements should obstruct doors or emergency exits,” he continued. Bus exterior advertisements, especially on the rear glass, should not obscure the ‘School Bus’ signage or impede the driver’s view.
