The cautious drivers made a 40% difference in the number of force vehicle-related traffic accidents.
22 “ideal” drivers have been recognized by the Dubai Police for not having engaged in any traffic violations or accidents during the previous three years.
The drivers received recognition as part of the “Safe Driving Stars” program, which assisted the police in “government expenditure rationalization” and saved Dh24 million.
The General Administration of Transport and Rescue’s Insurance Department director, Colonel Samira Abdullah Al Ali, stated: “The initiative contributed to a 40% reduction in traffic accidents involving force vehicles.” As a result, the typical response time to different emergencies was lowered to 2.5 minutes.
Ultimately, the program will recognize more than 100 drivers in three categories—including civilians—for safe driving. Its goal is to increase road safety and performance by pressuring drivers to obey traffic laws.
One of the most well-known campaigns to encourage responsible driving, foster a culture of traffic safety, and instruct drivers on safe driving techniques is Safe Driving Stars. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering Affairs, stated that the initiative aims to decrease traffic accidents.
