Three people were hurt in an early-morning knife attack at the Paris Gare de Lyon train station, according to police.
They declared that the alleged assailant was in custody.
According to the authorities, the third victim was more gravely injured but was not in a life-threatening condition, while the other two just had minor wounds.
The motivation of the alleged attacker was not immediately apparent.
Over the previous ten years, France has had several attacks by militants as well as sporadic attacks by individuals suffering from mental illnesses.
Citing an anonymous police source, Le Figaro newspaper reported that the attacker at Gare de Lyon on Saturday morning was from Mali and had an Italian driver’s license. It was not able to verify this report right away.
