This Year, 150 New Public Parks are Planned by Abu Dhabi

In line with the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s (DMT) aggressive plan to improve the general well-being of Abu Dhabi’s citizens, 150 new parks will be established in the city by 2024, in addition to numerous parks already under renovation.

In keeping with its continued efforts to develop every district in Abu Dhabi, the DMT has launched a plan to build parks that would improve the health-conscious lifestyles of community members.

It was stated that the new parks’ layout would accommodate the locals’ wide range of requirements and tastes because they will include amenities, sporting facilities, seating places, kid-friendly play areas, BBQ pits, and unique play areas for determined individuals.

The DMT is determined to provide what matches the unique needs of each neighborhood so that the new parks will have facilities for a range of outdoor activities, including volleyball, badminton, cricket, parkour, basketball, and football.

The DMT upgraded six parks into innovative parks with contemporary technology to enhance the emirate’s quality of life. It offered free internet connection in 580 sites, including parks, beaches, and public transportation buses.

Additionally, they support the decision-makers and park management in tracking all services, such as monitoring the number of groups that visit the park, taking temperature readings, planning irrigation and cleaning schedules, and other AI-supported services that enhance the Abu Dhabi Parks visitor experience.
