The Board of Directors meeting for Oman and Etihad Rail Company (OER), the developer and operator of the UAE-Oman Rail Network, was attended by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Etihad Rail.

The conference, which took place in Muscat, focused on the timeline for constructing the UAE-Oman railway network as well as the accomplishments and efforts made to speed up project preparations.

Surrounded by board members and various other officials, H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was joined by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Chairman of the Board of Directors of OER; Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, the Omani Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of OER; and Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, the UAE Ambassador to Oman.

The project, which aims to build an effective railway network that connects Sohar Port with the UAE National Railway Network in accordance with international standards, was updated Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed on developments that will help its further growth.

The joint rail network would strengthen the close strategic and cultural relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, according to Sheikh Theyab. Importantly, it is in line with the policies of our forward-thinking leadership, who have consistently placed a high priority on strengthening the cultural and economic connections between our two nations.

“We are resolute in our dedication to seeing this ground-breaking project through to its completion and acknowledge the critical role that the development of a strong railway network connecting the two countries will play in promoting sustainable socio-economic growth.”
