The US Vice President Kamala Harris and the President of the UAE talk about the importance of the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip.

The vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, called UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today to discuss coordinated efforts to strengthen the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip and support the delivery of aid to civilians affected by the escalating military activity.

The two leaders emphasized the need to uphold international humanitarian law in order to protect civilian life.

The US Vice President and the President emphasized the need to act quickly to stop the worsening humanitarian situation for people in Gaza, protect their lives in accordance with international humanitarian law, and give relief efforts and the creation of safe havens top priority.

In order to create a comprehensive, just, and permanent peace that guarantees the stability of the larger region and prevents escalating violence and new crises, the call also addressed the necessity of moving toward a clear political horizon.
