Presently taking place in Italy from April 8th to April 11th, 2024, is the 61st Bologna Children’s Books Fair (BCBF), where the emirate of Sharjah is reaffirming its position as a champion of Arab culture. The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), a prominent event on the industry calendar, is once again organizing a delegation to showcase the emirate’s vibrant cultural scene and programs to assist writers and illustrators.
The emirate aims to facilitate networking, knowledge sharing, and partnership building between Emirati professionals and their global peers in the children’s book sector during the BCBF.
Important cultural organizations from Sharjah, including the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA)-affiliated Al Qasimi Publications, the Department of Culture, the Arab Children’s Book Publisher Forum, the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature, and the Turjuman Award, are represented in the delegation at the BCBF. Every organization gets a specific area at the Sharjah pavilion to present their goals, ideas, and projects. This platform is a link to promote cultural cooperation between Sharjah and cities worldwide while highlighting the value of literature and culture to the growth of the United Arab Emirates.
