The President, His Excellency The UAE’s steadfast dedication to comprehensive, sustainable, and integrated strategies for economic and social development was emphasized by Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. With a parallel focus on sustainability and emission reduction, His Highness emphasized the country’s commitment to strengthening its capacities and knowledge, diversifying them in the energy sector, and viewing it as the cornerstone of development efforts and goals.
Sheikh Mohamed instructed ADNOC to expand its varied portfolio and supply safe, dependable, and responsible energy at the meeting, which took place at ADNOC Headquarters, to promote the implementation of a fair, orderly, and just global energy transition.
His Highness noted that ADNOC is tripling its renewable energy capacity through its shareholding in Masdar while delivering concrete steps towards its interim targets of reducing greenhouse gas intensity by 25% and achieving near-zero methane emissions by 2030. These actions are part of the company’s ongoing efforts to transform, decarbonize, and future-proof its business.
According to Sheikh Mohamed, the UAE’s sustained emphasis on promoting global energy security and paving the way for a more sustainable future is demonstrated by this priority.
