Authorities reminded businesses in the UAE with 50 employees or more that they have until June 30 to fulfill their half-yearly Emiratization target.
According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (Mohre), these companies ought to have increased the percentage of Emirati workers by 1% before the deadline.
The ministry will begin examining companies’ compliance on July 1. For each Emirati not hired in the first half of the year, those who fall short of the target will be fined Dh48,000. Penalties accrue for each month a company fails to fill the necessary slots for nationals of the United Arab Emirates, and they are calculated at Dh8,000 per person per month. Every year, the monthly fine is raised by Dh1,000.
It is mandated that private companies in the nation increase the proportion of Emirati workers by two percent annually to reach at least ten percent by 2026. This goal is divided into two parts: one percent for the first half and one more percent for the second.
According to Mohre’s recent report, over 20,000 private companies in the country employ over 97,000 Emiratis.
