In collaboration with Taya Art Production, the UAE Food Bank, a program of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, introduced the “Cook of Thousand Meals” initiative, which saw the preparation and distribution of 20,000 meals for Iftar and Suhoor.
The program was implemented in Hatta and Za’beel, Dubai, and more than thirty volunteers helped with the packaging, cooking, and preparation phases. This program aligns with the Bank’s goal of feeding 5 million people during the fasting month of Ramadan.
The program aims to bring together locals and Emirati chefs to work together on food preparation and donation to the Bank. This program emphasizes the value of saving food from going to waste and distributing it to those in need in an effort to promote a sense of community responsibility and cooperation. Furthermore, the program aims to foster a consumer culture that is consistent with the Bank’s constructive and developmental vision.
The campaign is focused on supplying meals to over half a million families and over 3 million workers. This effort aligns with the Bank’s mission to manage surplus food, reduce waste, and uphold the principles of philanthropy, social responsibility, and humanitarian work in the UAE.
