The Company was Fined Dhs5,000 and Instructed to Reimburse the Bride Dhs4,000 for Their Wedding-Related Errors

The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court fined a company Dhs5,000 and ordered it to reimburse a bride Dhs4,000. The bride had hired the company to help her with wedding ceremony preparations, including organising a traditional henna procession with artificial flowers.

On the day of the event, it became apparent that the arrangements had not been made under the contract and had not matched what had been agreed upon. It was also discovered that the henna booth was unstable and likely to collapse. When the bride contacted the company, it said that the weather was unplanned and promised to send a staff member to fix whatever could be done.

The bride specifically filed a lawsuit against the business, demanding Dhs 8,000 in compensation for her material and psychological damages, Dhs 4,000 in refund, and the annulment of the contract for breach of terms. She also asked to make the appellee responsible for paying the attorney’s fees and the legal costs and expenses.

The bride noted that she had paid Dhs2,000 to the company when she signed the contract and then transferred the remaining Dhs2,000 to the appellee’s account. However, the appellee did not agree to the terms of the contract, so the bride was forced to pay twice as much to have the ceremony prepared by a different company.
