The Arab League Demands a "Immediate" End to the Forced Relocation of Palestinians from Gaza and a Ceasefire.

Following a summit in Bahrain on Thursday, the Arab League (AL) demanded a “immediate” ceasefire in Gaza and an end to forced displacement within Palestinian territory.

We demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, a halt to all attempts at forced displacement, an end to all forms of siege and allowing full and sustainable access to aid,” the group of 22 nations said in a statement.

At a summit dominated by the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Arab League also demanded the establishment of a UN peacekeeping force in the Palestinian territories and an international peace conference.  The 22-member coalition demanded “international protection and peacekeeping forces of the United Nations in the occupied Palestinian territories” until a two-state solution is put into effect in its final statement, which was issued after a meeting in Manama.

Additionally, it endorsed the requests of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and host King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to “convene an international conference under the auspices of the United Nations to resolve the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution.

“The Honourable Alongside His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Dubai’s ruler The 33rd Arab League Summit opened in Manama, with Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in attendance.
