Sheikh Mohammed Greets the UAE Qualifiers for the Arab Reading Challenge Winners.

The Honourable Vice President, Prime Minister, and Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, met with the winners of the 8th Arab Reading Challenge UAE qualifiers, led by UAE champion Ahmad Faisal Ali and People of Determination category winner Sulaiman Khamis Al Khadim. The gathering was held in Union House’s Al Mudeef Majlis.

Sheikh Mohammed made the gesture to support extraordinary talent, provide the next generation with the tools they need to learn, and encourage them to read Arabic literature to fortify their bond with the language, which is fundamental to Emirati identity.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the winners of the Challenge’s UAE-level qualifiers, commending them for their tenacity and advising them to read on. He also congratulated the students’ parents and teachers, who were instrumental in motivating the students to join the largest Arabic reading movement.

The 700,000 students from all around the United Arab Emirates who took part in the largest reading challenge in history made Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum very proud. He expressed hope for a new generation of knowledgeable readers.

The most crucial ability for the future generation is reading. It is a vital tool for ongoing development and the secret to lifelong learning. We still back reading programmes because we think that reading is the first instruction that God gave to humanity. He continued, “We think knowledge and education are the keys to a nation’s progress.
