Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Expresses Gratitude to Musk for Using Starlink to Support the UAE Field Hospital in Gaza

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked US billionaire Elon Musk on Wednesday for providing SpaceX’s Starlink internet service to support the UAE field hospital in Gaza.

Through the X platform, Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude to Elon Musk for his support of the UAE field hospital in Gaza. Elon Musk posted a tweet earlier that included the comment, “Starlink is now active in a Gaza hospital with the support of UAE media office and Israel. An American businessman, Elon Musk responded in Arabic to Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s expression of gratitude with the phrase “You are welcome.”

The UAE Field Hospital began receiving Starlink satellite internet services in March as part of the “Gallant Knight 3” operation. This was done with the dual goals of guaranteeing the best possible medical care in the Gaza Strip and enabling real-time video conferencing for the delivery of life-saving medical consultations.

The UAE foreign ministry stated in February that high-speed internet would make real-time video calling for potentially life-saving medical consultations possible. Gaza has inadequate internet connectivity because provider centres operate without power or fuel. This limits hospital services and the health ministry’s centralised system and makes it more difficult for rescue teams and medical personnel to perform their jobs.
