The Kanaf Centre in Sharjah has become the first facility in the UAE, and the broader Middle East, to adopt an advanced forensic technology known as the Safe Ultra System, designed to detect injuries and physical evidence that are not visible to the naked eye in suspected cases of child abuse. The Child Safety Organisation, which oversees the centre, says the new capability represents a significant step forward in how such sensitive cases are investigated and documented.
The technology has now been formally integrated into Kanaf’s approved forensic procedures, positioning the centre at the forefront of a broader regional push to modernise how child protection cases are handled from initial assessment through to judicial proceedings.
Closing an Evidentiary Gap
