Makkah: The second batch of 20 trainees from the Scouts Elite program, which aims to equip employees with the best qualifications, were recently welcomed as graduates by the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority. This allows the employees to use their knowledge at the reserve.
The graduates learned about wild animals and plants and how to care for them while maintaining their sustainability through field and practical training, which gave them a thorough awareness of the biodiversity in natural reserves.
There are two stages to the Scouts Elite program. The first consisted of a classroom course taught in the Tabuk region that taught trainees the fundamentals of scout work with an emphasis on ecology, biodiversity, human history, and environmental statistics.
In the second phase, in association with the Southern African Wildlife College, students flew to Hoedspruit, South Africa, for an intense eight-week field training course .Graduate Nayef Al-Wajhan described the program as outstanding, noting that it covered health, field operations safety, monitoring patrols, plant and animal identification and management, as well as report writing and analysis.
