Saudi Arabia Will host Fifa Club World Cup 2023

Saudi Arabia has been declared the host of the next edition of the Fifa Club World Cup, with the tournament that will be scheduled from 12- 22 December 2023. This much-awaited sports event by the country will build a substantial positive acceleration behind Saudi football in the games of men and women at all levels.

The decision was made at a Fifa Council meeting on Tuesday, 14 February 2023, only a few days after Al Hilal became the first winner of the AFC Champions League and the first Saudi club to reach the final of the tournament. Besides that, Saudi Arabia will be the sixth most of the competition after its beginning in 2000. 

Besides, the sports prime minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz Turki Al Faisal, also stated, ” We are honored and extremely excited to be allowed to welcome the leading football clubs and fans of the world to Saudi Arabia. We look forward to showcasing our genuine love of the game.

He added, ” Today is another crucial move towards our journey of transformation in football. We host international sports because we believe in the power of sports and to inspire our boys and girls to create and build new relationships. “

There has also been an enormous increase in sports participation at all levels, with over 200,000 girls participating in sports every week and 50,000 taking part in the first-ever Schools – League. Women’s football growth in Saudi Arabia continues with the conclusion of the inauguration of the eighth team SAFF Women’s Premier League. 

President of Saudi Arabian Football Federation SAFF and newly elected FiFa council member Yasser Al Michael also stated that ” The FIFA World Cup” is a unique competition that has delivered unforgettable moments. Not only has memories to millions, but it also has gifted new friendships within the game. We have more qualified coaches and more referees, and this tournament will be highlighted to look for, especially when you consider some fixtures and players who also might participate in this fantastic event.
