Since Saudi Arabia has launched a number of initiatives for South Asian people, Indians can now travel there and perform the Umrah on stopover, business, and tourist visas.
The Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al Rabiah, is in New Delhi with the goal of streamlining the journey.
He declared on Tuesday that Indians will be able to visit any city in the country and perform Umrah with a 48-hour processing time and 96-hour stopover visa.
According to Mr. Al Rabiah, holders of an Umrah visa are free to live and travel in any Saudi city for a period of 90 days.
Of the 1.3 billion people living in India, 200 million are Muslims.
According to Mr. Al Rabiah, there has been a noticeable rise in the number of Indian pilgrims performing the Umrah.
According to him, over 1.2 million Indians completed the Umrah this year, a 74% rise from the previous year.
Mr. Al Rabiah continued, “The two countries intend to increase the number of direct flights to accommodate the growing number of Indian pilgrims.”
