The Prince The Supreme Council member and ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, emphasized that charitable giving has grown in significance in the UAE and Ras Al Khaimah’s societal culture since it reflects the nation’s progress and strong belief in the value of giving.
At the same time, Sheikh Saud hosted Tracy Reynolds, the consul general of Canada in Dubai and the Northern Region, and the organizers of the 13th RAK Terry Fox Run, whose proceeds were given to the UAE University in Al Ain so that it could finish its cancer research.
Her Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr conveyed his joy at organizing this yearly charitable function in Ras Al Khaimah and praised the organizers and attendees for their hard work, which has made the function a highlight of the emirate’s events calendar.
Under the auspices of Ras Al Khaimah’s ruler, the race was held on Friday on Al Qawasim Corniche in collaboration with the Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi Charity and Humanitarian Foundation.
The marathon is held in honour of Canadian athlete Terry Fox, who as a young man lost his leg to bone cancer.
