The President, His Excellency At the invitation of Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part in the virtual G20 Leaders’ Summit as part of India’s G20 Presidency.
Reviewing the progress made after the 18th G20 Summit, which was held in New Delhi in September, is the goal of the summit.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the G20’s considerable focus on climate change in 2023 in a statement released during the virtual summit, which was mirrored in the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasized that these steps would support collaborative efforts at the next UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) with the goal of achieving significant, fair, and effective results in tackling the threat of climate change. This is especially important because the conference will mark the first assessment of the state of progress in carrying out the commitments made in the Paris Agreement.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasized his excitement to continue working with participants at COP28 UAE to combat climate change, one of the most important issues facing the world today.
In addition, he thanked Narendra Modi for taking the initiative to call the summit at this particular time and praised the year-long efforts of the Indian G20 Presidency to support global cooperation on common problems and issues such as energy, climate change, food security, sustainability, and global development.
