Opportunities for Additional Flights Between Al Ain Airport and Pakistani Cities is Highlighted by Envoy Tirmizi

The Pakistani ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, emphasised on Wednesday the importance of increasing the number of flights between Al Ain Airport and the country’s major cities, particularly Peshawar.

He made this statement at an event at Al Ain Airport where the launch of PIA’s flight from Al Ain to Turbat, Balochistan, was also announced, on the fringes of a meeting with Elena Sorlini, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports.

The ambassador emphasised that we see a great deal of potential for future cooperation with the launch of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flight from Al Ain Airport to Turbat, Balochistan. We believe that the number of flights by PIA from Al Ain Airport to Pakistan (two to Islamabad and one to Turbat) needs to be increased by adding other destinations, especially Peshawar and other major cities.

Ambassador Tirmizi emphasised that Pakistan’s advantageous location between South Asia and the Middle East presented numerous opportunities, particularly for Emiratis and other nationals living in the United Arab Emirates in the tourism sector.

The ambassador stated, “We are dedicated to increasing flight connectivity from Al Ain airport to other cities in Pakistan and we value the CEO’s offer of support in this endeavour.

The CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, Elena Sorlini, expressed gratitude to Pakistani Ambassador Faisal Tirmizi and his group for attending the event to advance flight operations from Al Ain Airport and pledged her unwavering support in expanding the airport’s flight schedule to include more destinations in Pakistan.

Sultan Al Dhaheri, Senior Vice President of government Relations; Sharifa Al Kathiri, Head of Retail Services; and Mahwish Khan, Senior Manager of aviation Development in Abu Dhabi, were also present at the meeting. Senior representatives from both parties, including Area Manager PIA Tariq Gulzar, were also present.
