On January 22, some Indian states declared a public holiday.

To commemorate the opening ceremony of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on January 22, several Indian governments have announced public holidays or half days.

The Indian government had previously declared that on that same day, all central government offices would be closed for half a day.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the ceremony.

Here is a list of states that have declared a holiday or half-day

Maharashtra

Goa

Uttar Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh

Haryana

Chhattisgarh

Half day:

Gujarat

Rajasthan

Assam

Tripura
