Dubai, UAE – In a significant move marked by unanimous support from French business leaders in the United Arab Emirates, Stéphane Boukris has been elected as the new president of the “French Tech Dubai Abu Dhabi” hub. This leadership position reflects his pivotal role in promoting French technological prowess in one of the world’s most dynamic technological landscapes.

Recently, Boukris made headlines with the sale of his company, Excelsior, to Alan Allman Associates, a testament to his astute business acumen. Following this milestone, he relocated to the UAE, bringing his extensive entrepreneurial and investment expertise to the region.

As an influential entrepreneur and investor involved in 53 startups, Boukris’s experience will significantly enhance the hub’s mission. French Tech Dubai Abu Dhabi aims to amplify the presence and success of French high-tech enterprises in the Middle East, a region known for its rapid technological adoption and investment in smart city initiatives.

With a clear mandate from French executives in the UAE, the new board plans to roll out several initiatives to support French startups and SMEs. These initiatives will focus on fostering collaboration, increasing visibility, and providing tailored support to navigate the Middle Eastern market’s unique challenges. “The potential for French technology companies in the UAE is immense. Supported by the French leadership here, we aim to unlock significant opportunities for innovation and growth,” stated Stéphane Boukris.

The regional technology sector is poised for further expansion, and with the strategic guidance of Boukris and the newly appointed board, French Tech Dubai Abu Dhabi is set to play a crucial role in shaping the technological future of the Middle East.

Moreover, French Tech is an initiative personally supported by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron. This endorsement underscores the national importance placed on fostering French innovation globally, highlighting the strategic significance of French Tech hubs in expanding France’s technological influence and supporting French enterprises abroad.

Additionally, the following members have been elected to serve on the board of French Tech Dubai Abu Dhabi:

  • Timothée Desormeaux
  • Benjamin Grolimund
  • Maria El Fassi
  • Edouard Bouvet
  • Elvie Lahournere
  • Valerie Hawley
  • Jean-Christophe Ramos
  • Laurence Ouaknine
  • Paul Darmas

This diverse group of board members brings a wealth of expertise and experience that will contribute to the hub’s initiatives and overall success in the region.
