Agreement Reached to Improve the Manufacturing Environment in the UAE

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), representatives of Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Environment Company (EITC) and Emirates Development Bank (EDB), and the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology (NSAAT) to launch the Transform 4.0 program under the auspices of the Technology Transformation Program (TTP).

To revolutionize the industrial sector in the United Arab Emirates, the program will enable businesses to implement 4IR solutions by identifying 100 manufacturers with high potential and assisting them in embracing the digital era. Within three to five years, Industry 4.0 lighthouses are to be established. This program demonstrates a shared commitment to leveraging significant digital advancements to strengthen the country’s competitive edge.

According to Tariq Al Hashmi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Advanced Technology Sector at MoIAT, the Transform 4.0 program demonstrates the UAE’s proactive and forward-thinking approach to embracing Industry 4.0’s potential. This statement aligns with the objectives of the National Strategy of Industry and Advanced Technology, particularly in the area of 4IR adoption. It emphasizes our commitment to boosting the manufacturing sector’s capacities and ensuring it stays at the forefront of efficiency and technological innovation.

He continued, “This initiative, launched in line with the Technology Transformation program, highlights our commitment to building an ecosystem that supports and expedites our industries’ digital transformation, thereby expanding the country’s economic diversification.
