Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was informed by US President Joe Biden on Wednesday that capturing Gaza would be “a big mistake” and that a two-state solution was the only way to end the Israel-Palestine issue.
Reporters were informed by Biden that while he was doing all within his power to liberate hostages detained by the terrorist organization Hamas in Gaza, this did not entail the deployment of US forces.
There were doubts about the US president’s meaning when he told reporters last week that his message to the captives was, “Hang in there, we’re coming.”
During a press conference, Biden clarified his remarks by saying, “What I meant was, I’m doing everything in my power to get you out.” I’m here to assist you with leaving. I do not mean to deploy soldiers inside. I wasn’t referring to the armed forces.
Biden declared that he would not give up until the hostages, which included an American infant of three years old, were released. He was working on the matter nonstop.
The Islamic militant group and Israeli authorities have been mediated for the release of over 240 hostages by Hamas, which has its political office in Qatar. On October 7, as they surged into Israel, they were captured by militants. 1,200 individuals are alleged to have died during the outburst in Israel.
