Indian Student Reported Missing and Discovered Dead on Purdue University Campus

A US county coroner stated that an Indian student at Purdue University was discovered dead outside a building on campus following his disappearance last week.

The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office reports that authorities were summoned to 500 Allison Road in West Lafayette on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in regards to a possible body.

An autopsy is scheduled, Coroner Carrie Costello stated. “Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the family, and we hope they are respected during such a difficult time.”

The Purdue Exponent, the student publication of the university, states that Acharya double majored in data science and computer science at the John Martinson Honors College.

The dean of the university’s computer science department, Chris Clifton, confirmed Acharya’s passing on Monday through email, according to The Exponent.
