India-UAE Flights: Airline Adds Three New Routes; Expats Can get Less Expensive Choices as Low as Dh330

IndiGo will expand its operations to three new cities next month, providing more affordable options for Indian residents in the UAE Airline to fly home.

Beginning in August, the low-cost carrier will operate direct flights between Abu Dhabi and the Indian cities of Mangaluru, Coimbatore, and Tiruchirappalli. Flights from Abu Dhabi to Mangaluru will operate daily beginning August 9, and Tiruchirappalli to Abu Dhabi will operate four times per week beginning August 11, 2024. Starting August 10, direct flights between Coimbatore and the UAE capital will operate thrice weekly.

The airline has listed one-way airfares from Abu Dhabi to Mangaluru and Coimbatore for the coming months as low as Dh353 and Dh330, respectively. For UAE travellers, return airfare can be as low as Dh843.

The UAE-India air corridor is one of the busiest between the two countries. 3.7 million Indian nationals live and work in the UAE, accounting for the majority of foreign workers in the expat community.

Due to high air travel demand, airfares between the two countries skyrocket, doubling during peak seasons such as summer vacations and New Year’s holidays. Travel industry executives have urged governments to increase seat capacity to meet rising demand. A large number of Indians travel to Dubai for tourism all year.
