India: Due to Dense Fog, Several Flights in Delhi were Delayed

A layer of fog engulfed the nation’s capital on Monday, causing airline operations to be disrupted and many flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to be delayed.

The Delhi Airport advises passengers that flights that do not comply with CAT III compliance may be impacted.

The Delhi Airport still operates for landings and takeoffs, although non-CAT III compliance flights can experience disruptions. If passengers need up-to-date flight information, they should contact the relevant airline. The caution on ‘X’ stated, ‘We sincerely apologize for any difficulty caused.

An instrument landing system (ILS) known as CAT III, or Category III, aids in aircraft landing in low-visibility conditions.

At Delhi Airport, low-visibility procedures are now underway. Right now, every flight operation is going as usual. According to another caution from Delhi Airport, passengers are asked to contact the relevant airline for the most recent flight information.

Except Punjab and West Rajasthan, no significant dense fog conditions have been reported nationwide, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
