Not every country observed the start of Ramadan UAE, on the same day this year. Shawwal’s moon sighting is scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2024, while some countries began on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Other nations began on Tuesday, March 12 and will search for the crescent moon on Tuesday, April 9, the twenty-ninth day of Ramadan. These nations include Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Oman, Jordan, Libya, and Morocco.
The International Astronomical Centre (IAC) Director, Engineer Mohammed Shawkat Odeh, clarified that the reason the crescent won’t be visible in nations trying to observe it on Monday, April 8, is because the conjunction happens after sunset and the moon sets before the sun. As a result, these nations will celebrate Eid Al Fitr on Wednesday, April 10, after Ramadan has been observed for thirty days.
He also mentioned that on Tuesday, April 9, some locations can see the crescent moon. From South Africa and the eastern portion of the globe, it may be seen through a telescope; Central Asia and the central African continent can be seen with some difficulty with the unaided eye. Nonetheless, it is reasonably visible with the unaided eye from most of Europe, North Africa, West Asia, and the American continents.
