At the 8th edition of the Xposure International Photography Awards, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC), recognized the exceptional achievements made by photographers.

Winners and runners-up in ten different categories and one overall winner were announced in front of Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB). Each winner received a portion of the remarkable prize pool of $60,000.

Alena Grom of Ukraine won the grand award for her powerful photo, “Stolen Spring IV,” which captured the effects of conflict and the lost seasons. The judging panel was impressed and paid attention to this profoundly touching picture, demonstrating the photographer’s ability to portray optimism and resiliency.

The 2023–2024 Xposure International Photography Awards, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), attracted over 25,000 entries from 190 nations, including China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Egypt, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The awards, which contain categories for anything from architecture to nature and landscape photography to the recently introduced “See Sharjah” category, are meant to honor and recognize visual storytellers working across various topics.
