Global initiatives are managed

The  Global initiatives are managed renewable energy initiatives in the present a model of international collaboration aimed at advancing climate action and sustainability. These initiatives support developing nations in achieving energy security, cutting emissions, and protecting the planet’s and humanity’s future.

By increasing its investments in the clean energy sector, collaborating with developed nations, and broadening its global portfolio to support affected communities through mitigation of the impacts of climate change, adaptation to this phenomenon, and reduction of losses and damages resulting from it, the UAE is demonstrating its commitment to taking practical action.

In an effort to address the issues of growing fuel prices, reliance on imports, and meeting basic electricity needs—all of which are critical for sustainable development and societal advancement—the Pacific Islands have benefited from support from the UAE-Pacific Partnership Fund in implementing renewable energy projects.

The UAE-Pacific Partnership Fund, which includes sponsoring 11 renewable energy projects for US$50 million, was supported by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund (ADFD). The 6.4 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy produced by these completed projects accounted for a significant amount of the energy requirements of the people living on those islands. The initiatives in the Pacific Islands succeeded in maintaining a clean environment devoid of carbon emissions as well as the strategic goals represented in those nations’ national budgets. Together with saving US$3.7 million on diesel fuel, all of the projects attempted to lower annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 8,447 tons.
