Following a US Navy response, a tanker in the Middle East is secure from assault, according to officials.

IN WASHINGTON: A commercial tanker in the Gulf of Aden made a distress call and was rescued by a Following a US Navy warship; according to US officials on Sunday, the tanker is safe.
The Central Park was recognized as the tanker by the vessel’s company, which was carrying phosphoric acid as cargo. No assailants’ identity was disclosed by the authorities.
The US military claimed in a statement that the USS Mason convinced the commercial ship’s attackers to release it, assisted by other ships.

The Ofer family of Israel owns Zodiac Maritime Ltd., an international ship management firm with its headquarters in London, which is in charge of Central Park, a light chemical tanker weighing 19,998 metric tons. According to LSEG records, the vessel flying the Liberian flag was constructed in 2015 and is owned by Clumvez Shipping Inc.
