Why is the 2022 World Cup in Qatar Held in Winter?

The 2022 World Cup calendar brings numerous new features about the old finals. The biggest change is undoubtedly the fact that the cup is not held in summer, as usual, but in winter. The reason for this is the constant high temperatures in the desert state of Qatar in summer. To protect the health of players, officials and fans, FIFA has decided to move the finals from summer to winter.

Even in winter, temperatures in Qatar are above 30 degrees. So, proper cooling technologies will be used at every stage of the 2022 World Cup.
