How your Zakat will help In UAE cancer patients this Eid Al Fitr

When Rukayat Aderonke received her breast cancer diagnosis in 2021, she was not fighting her illness by herself. In addition to her family, Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) from Sharjah accompanied her on her path to recovery. The 37-year-old expatriate Nigerian said she is eternally thankful to FoCP for providing a lifeline and consolation during her cancer battle.

Rukayat is one of the hundreds of cancer patients who have benefited from the initiatives of the charity organization founded in 1999 under the direction of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and patron and founder of FoCP. When my insurance failed to cover my treatments, FoCP stepped in and they provided assistance, continuous support, and genuine care.

Collaboration is one of FoCP’s foundational principles, and individual contributions are cordially welcomed to offer much-needed support to cancer sufferers. story is one of many that they would like to share, as they have relaunched their yearly Zakat campaign to ” seek financial support to ease the burden on patients and their families.”
