During the New Year's Eve festivities, Dubai Police receives about 14,000 calls.

During the New Year’s Eve celebrations in 2024, the Dubai Police announced that between 6 pm on December 31 and 6 am on January 1, 14,148 calls were placed to the Command and Control Center emergency hotline (999) and the Call Center (901) for non-emergency issues.

The calls were split between 13,078 calls to the Command and Control Center (999) and 1,070 calls to the 901 Call Center for non-emergency cases, according to Colonel Muhammad Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of the Command and Control Center in the General Department of Operations at Dubai Police.

Al Muhairi praised the employees’ efforts at the Call Center (901) and the Command and Control Center (999) for professionally and promptly answering all callers’ questions. This reflects Dubai Police’s goal of promptly answering calls to improve community security, safety, and happiness.

He also commended the public for their dedication to arriving early at designated celebration areas and becoming familiar with instructions disseminated through various media channels, which helped ensure that the celebrations were successfully organized and matched Dubai’s innovative reputation as a significant global event host.
