The Tree of Life at COP28 in Dubai is more than simply an eye-catching digital work of art; it’s a concrete legacy of sustainability and a sign of progress.
Driven by artificial intelligence, the invention enthralls guests not only with its immersive experience but also with its post-conference transformation into stuffed animals that will be distributed to charitable organizations.
The tree, which is the centerpiece of the Green Zone’s Energy Transition Hub, represents the Ghaf tree, which is native to the United Arab Emirates and is renowned for flourishing in the most hostile environments.
The Tree of Life, which is meant to be the Ghaf tree, represents stability and serenity, according to the tree’s designers, Farah Ballout, Project Manager, INVNT, in an interview with News Times. Here in the UAE, the tree was created. Its structure is built of steel, which will eventually be melted, and the tree trunk is covered in foam. It will be disassembled, turned into bean bags, and donated to a charity once COP28 is over.
Ballout said that specific sections of this tree will be utilized in upcoming immersive art projects.
Future immersive installations will make advantage of the processors contained within the framework. The thickest part of the tree’s large display OLED panels is 10mm. Because they are transparent, guests are able to view the branches of the tree on the opposite side. Artificial intelligence (AI) powers the software since it allows us to create a variety of visuals. Rent has been paid for the six LED screens at the base.
