Dubai Students' Charity Single is the most Downloaded Song in the UK and the UAE.

Following the release of their “Wellington Charity Single,” a version of Miley Cyrus’s “The Climb,” more than 200 students from Dubai and Qatar are celebrating today. Within hours of its release, the song topped the iTunes soundtrack charts for both the UK and the UAE.

The GEMS Wellington school group’s first song for charity, published to the public, is this track.

The project’s goal is to raise money for the Harmony House orphanage in Gurgaon, India. Through this philanthropic endeavor, all sales earnings benefit homeless children.

The song’s placing on the list thrilled the kids. GEMS Wellington Academy – Silicon Oasis Year 10 student Aerin Thatcher stated, “I’m so excited to be part of this amazing project.” I’ve only been here for a year, but already I can say that the school offers incredible opportunities that I don’t think exist at any other school in Dubai. It’s quite amazing that we discovered the song was at the top of iTunes’ soundtrack charts this morning. Topping the charts is an incredible achievement for our students, staff, parents, and everyone who has supported this initiative so far. Furthermore, every download is a donation to support the important work of Harmony House.
