The Future Foresight Plan, which offers a road map for envisioning, planning, and constructing the emirate’s future via municipal activities, has been unveiled by Dubai Municipality. The plan is a component of the municipality’s goal to build a sustainable, innovative city with an unmatched standard of living in the future.
The plan is to establish Dubai as a pioneer in urban development, innovation, and societal well-being. It aims to prioritize sustainable urban development and expanding green areas while utilizing technology and societal development to build a dynamic and resilient urban environment driven by renewable energy. This plan will make improved quality of life, crisis resilience, and sustainable infrastructure possible.
The Future Foresight Plan of Dubai Municipality centers around three key themes:
- Enhancing the livability of urban areas through revitalization
- Improving sustainable infrastructure
- Fostering health and well-being
The first theme addresses important issues such as creating a bright, green city and combating climate change. The second theme covers matters related to the digitalization of waste and sewage, the future of construction, and the future of the transportation of water and waste. On the other hand, the third topic focuses on enhancing health and safety, food security, environmental monitoring, noise quality, and air quality.
To carry out the strategy, The Future Foresight Forum saw the signing of multiple memorandums of understanding by Dubai Municipality. Along with private sector institutions, these alliances included the Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and the Museum of the Future.
