Dubai: Hundreds of newborns born on UAE Union Day get free car seats

In honor of the UAE’s 52nd Union Day celebrations, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) gave car seats to newborns in all of its hospitals.

This act was a component of RTA’s annual traffic safety campaigns, which are sponsored by Continental Tires and Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) and carried out in association with UNICEF, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Dubai Police General Headquarters.

The executive director of traffic at the Traffic and Roads Agency, or RTA, Bader Alsiri, emphasized the value of raising awareness and organizing community-focused activities around national holidays. “RTA uses seasonal and yearly events to spread awareness messages that are geared toward a wide range of age groups and the community as a whole. RTA has an obligation to inform the public and reduce the number of people killed and injured in traffic accidents, according to Alsiri.

RTA created an awareness campaign to honor Union Day and promote road safety by asking parents to put child seats in their cars in partnership with public and private partners. When the yearly “My Child’s Union Day Gift” campaign was first introduced four years ago, 200 child seats were distributed throughout 17 hospitals.
