Late on Saturday, a building in Dubai’s Al Barsha that was still under construction caught fire. The Dubai Civil Defence deemed the 30-story building fire “moderate” in a statement to Khaleej Times.
When the incident was reported at 10 p.m., firefighters arrived on the scene in less than six minutes. Soon after, civil defence workers from two stations started conducting evacuations and fighting fires.
In less than three hours, they contained the fire and no casualties were reported. At 2:18 a.m., it started the cooling phase. The site was turned over to the appropriate authorities “in accordance with standard procedures,” according to the civil defence, which has not disclosed the cause of the fire.
The building-wide Global Evacuation Message will be repeatedly sent out during this period, immediately after the activation of the fire alarm.In the fire on Saturday, no one was reported killed.
Within six minutes of the incident being reported at 10 p.m., firefighters arrived on the scene. Operational evacuation and firefighting were promptly initiated by civil defence personnel from two stations.
