Dubai agrees to introduce the first airborne taxi service in the world by 2026 for the entire city.

The Honorable An agreement to launch an aerial taxi service in Dubai by 2026 was signed in front of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

The Joby Aviation S4 Aerial taxi, which is expected to begin commercial operations in 2026, was also examined by Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan. The project is a component of RTA’s upcoming mobility initiatives, designed to offer transportation options to tourists and inhabitants of Dubai alike.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, gave Sheikh Mohammed an update on the status of the aerial taxi operations. This cutting-edge transportation service makes it easier for people to move around cities safely and effectively by utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Integrating the project into Dubai’s public transportation system is its goal.
