Dubai is concentrating on a tech-driven future: Maktoum

Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment and Financial Officer of Alphabet and Google, met with Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, on Sunday.

Sheikh Maktoum emphasized Dubai’s commitment to giving all industry participants a platform for transformative growth and its vision of a future driven by technology innovation during the conference held at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Dubai, he said, is eager to bring people together who share its goal in order to take advantage of the unmatched opportunities presented by the fast evolving world of technology. Dubai is one of the world’s most innovative and future-ready cities.

Sheikh Maktoum reaffirmed Dubai’s intention to become the global hub for emerging businesses and its dedication to advancing digital transformation in a variety of areas. According to him, Dubai is quickly becoming known as a center for important players in the global technology market, such as top regional and worldwide companies, innovators, startups, venture capitalists, and industry experts who collaborate to expand the market’s potential.
