The company has become the first district cooling service provider to use a real-time leak detection system using Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) technology. This innovative system has helped reduce chilled water network losses by almost 70% compared to previous years.
As part of the Chilled Water Network Leak Detection Project, Emicool, in collaboration with European technology provider Fast GmbH, enables early alerts of underground leaks, thereby reducing water loss. This early detection improves the plant’s operational efficiency by reducing the additional chilled water required to overcome network leaks.”
He continued, “The company is also focusing on the adoption of state-of-the-art district cooling technologies. Around 70% of Emicool’s plants are equipped with Thermal Energy Storage towers, which are ideal for saving energy.
Emicool’s commitment to innovation and sustainability has been recognized at the International District Energy Association (IDEA) Annual Conference 2022, where the company was awarded The District Energy Space 2021- Bronze for Total Building Area Committed (Beyond North America) & 2022 IDEA Innovation Award honorable mention for the Chilled Water Network Leak Detection Project.”
