Are You Going to Marry Me? Nikki Haley Rejects a Suggestion from a Trump Backer

At a speech in New Hampshire, an anti-Trump heckler unexpectedly proposed to Indian-American Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. The South Carolina governor laughed as Haley, 52, spoke to her supporters on Monday at the Artisan Hotel in Salem. According to the New York Post, the man then yelled, “Will you marry me?” from the audience.

The former UN Ambassador, who is married to Maj. Michael Haley, promptly replied to the lighthearted proposal by asking her suitor whether he would cast his ballot for her.

After a little silence, the man said, “I’m voting for Trump,” which caused his fellow rallygoers to laugh. Haley shot back, unimpressed, “Oh, get out of here!”

Haley is the front-runner and Trump’s final remaining opponent in the campaign for the party’s nominee to face President Joe Biden in November.

Haley gave a stronger performance than anticipated, but Trump prevailed. Haley’s native state of South Carolina will now host the Republican primary. But Trump is polling higher than Haley.
