DUBAI: Representative Geert Wilders of the Netherlands made a remark advocating for the Palestinian people to be relocated to Jordan, which was denounced by a number of Arab states.

Along with the Arab League, the UAE, Bahrain, and Yemen condemned the action.

The UAE Embassy in the Netherlands issued the following statement: “The UAE emphasizes the significance of respecting Jordan’s sovereignty and stands in full solidarity with its brotherly country.” It also condemns any denial of the rights of the patriotic Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination.

The foreign ministry of Bahrain demanded that these notions be refuted and declared its unwavering support for Jordan.

Geert Wilders, the leader of the far-right Party for Freedom, made the statement following his significant win in the Dutch elections.
