By 2024, American Hospital Dubai, a pioneer in robotic surgery, will have trained 20 Emirati surgeons in cutting-edge robotically assisted surgery. The curriculum includes an online introduction, module-by-module instruction, practice on simulators and dry boxes, and hands-on and cadaver training led by globally recognized and qualified robotic surgeon trainers.
Surgeons from Egypt, South Africa, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Jordan, and Kuwait participated in robotic training at the sole centre of excellence, which adheres to worldwide standards and a recognized curriculum. With multispecialty tutoring in urology, OB-GYN, orthopaedics, spine, and general surgery, the program assisted hospital trainees.
A further step in American Hospital Dubai’s objective to upskill robotic surgeons, improve healthcare quality in the region via education, and give back to the community is the mechanical surgical training project.
The GCC will be included in the robotic surgery training program’s second phase. Although Phase 2 of the program will formally expand it throughout the region, American Hospital Dubai is already teaching physicians from the GCC.
Patients seeking improved and safe surgical outcomes will find robotic surgery a blessing due to its expanding significance in enabling intricate and delicate treatments with greater precision and various advantages, such as fewer complications, faster healing, and recovery.
