Following the partial collapse of the Dubai shopping mall the night before, Al Mulla Plaza’s stores remained closed on Sunday. Two persons were slightly hurt in the incident.
The structure, which houses a shopping center and an apartment building above, is among Dubai’s oldest. Tenants were permitted to return to their houses and apartments were not impacted by the occurrence. The retail stores are surrounded by cordones by Dubai Police.
When News Times visited the plaza on Sunday, we saw a lot of customers who had arrived at the mall unaffected by the incident and were there as regulars. The building on Al Ittihad Road was observed being inspected by officials, and no one was permitted inside.
As officials guaranteed safety, a security guard stationed outside the well-known site asked the tourists to return a few days later.
Al Mulla Plaza, a well-known landmark, is a mixed-use complex with 60 retail stores and 108 duplexes.
We, the residents, have no issues because the roof’s plastering only collapsed. A family made the decision to check into a hotel for the day, but since it was only a small problem, everything was under control. According to I. John, a longtime Al Mulla Plaza resident, there is no such thing as resident concern.
