The Abrahamic Family House provides an opportunity for education, conversation, and religious observance. It had its first anniversary since opening in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District in February 2023.
The complex includes three houses of worship: the Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque, St Francis Church, and Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue, as well as common areas for gathering and conversation.
The project was inspired by the ideals outlined in the Document on Human Fraternity, which Pope Francis and Grand Imam Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019.
After a year of community-building efforts, the Abrahamic Family House celebrated its anniversary with a month-long series of events, and it hopes to expand its activities and projects in the coming years.
The President of the Abrahamic Family House, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, stated, “Since its inception one year ago, the Abrahamic Family House has provided a unique platform for understanding and dialogue, serving multiple faith communities and welcoming visitors.” The Abrahamic Family House’s three magnificent Houses of Worship have grown into active religious centers for Abu Dhabi’s Muslim, Christian, and Jewish populations.
